In 1966 Marion & Loretta Sluys purchased Bauer’s Bake Shop, and renamed it Sluys Poulsbo Bakery. With hard work and dedication, Sluys Poulsbo Bakery has built a reputation for excellent quality and service. Sluys Poulsbo Bakery is now run by Daniel & Stephanie K Sluys. Daniel is the son of Marion & Loretta, who has been working in the bakery since he was 8 years old. Many of our product are original recipes, including Daniels Bread, Soriah, Barnaby, Brod, Sweet Black, Norwegian Black, Farmers, Poulsbo dark, Poulsbo Raisin, Jalapeno Cheese, and some are recipes from the Old World, such as Julekake, Stollen, Cardamom bread, Kransekake, and Fattigmand.
Mandatory stop for Viking cups when in the area. Headed back to L.A. now that we made the stop.
This is amazing. If you like cream cheese, get a Viking Cup. Yum yum We went there 4 times while we were visiting family. $$
Absolutely outstanding pastries. Viking cups are awesome,and the apple walnut fritters can't be beat. This place is impressive in their attention to detail with their design and execution of their desserts. Can't overstate how happy I am with this shop.
Only one of the greatest place on earth! Everything here is amazing! And the staff are hilarious and super friendly. Very warm, fun and safe environment. The only two setbacks are that the lines are long because it is sooo stinking GOOD, and that we live so far away! We drive almost an hour for their maple bars! Fluffy, tasty, all-around superb!
Lovely little bakery in a quaint town. A must see when going through Poulsbo. The smell is amazing when you stop by there and everything is fresh and delicious.
